The step meter belongs to the contact type surface morphology measurement instrument, also known as the probe type surface contour meter. The step meter has high measurement accuracy, large range, stable and reliable measurement results, and good repeatability, and is widely used in various industries.
Measurement principle:
When the stylus lightly slides along the surface being tested, the tiny peaks and valleys on the surface cause the stylus to move up and down along the peaks and valleys while sliding. The movement of the stylus reflects the surface contour.
The performance of the stair step meter depends on the following three aspects:
Test repeatability, testing speed, and ease of operation. These factors determine the quality of experimental data and the efficiency of experimental operations.

Model: P-17
Supports step height measurement from a few nanometers to one millimeter, suitable for production and research and development environments.
P-17 is a KLA desktop probe profiler. The system supports 2D and 3D measurements of step height, roughness, curvature, and stress, with scans up to 200mm without the need for image stitching.
The system combines UltraLite sensors, constant force control, and an ultra flat scanning platform, providing excellent stability. The program settings are simple and fast through functions such as point and click platform control, top and side view optical systems, and resolution cameras with optical zoom.
P-17 is equipped with various filters, leveling, and analysis algorithms for quantifying surface morphology, and can support 2D or 3D measurements. And achieve fully automatic measurement through pattern recognition, sorting, and feature detection.
