In the automotive lamp processing industry, if the formed automotive lamps are directly installed on the car without any treatment, their surfaces are prone to scratches and damage, which can affect the car's lighting performance. To prevent such damage, current automotive lamp processing factories often spray or dip a layer of Hardcoat on the surface of the automotive lamp fixtures to protect the surface of the lamps. The thickness of the hard coating needs to be strictly controlled. If the hardening coating is too thick, the coating cost will increase relatively; if it is too thin, the anti-damage effect will be weakened. Moreover, in practical applications, it has been found that when the hardening coating is applied to the PC resin substrate of car lamps, it may peel off over time. Therefore, after the hardening layer is applied, an additional process is added, which involves subjecting the lamps with the hardening coating to high-temperature curing treatment. The purpose of this process is to enhance the bonding between the hardening layer and the PC substrate of the lamps. After the high-temperature treatment, The part of the hardening coating that comes into contact with the PC substrate will seep into the PC resin substrate, which will increase the adhesion between the hardening coating and the PC resin substrate substrate, thus preventing the hardening coating from falling off easily. However, for the thickness of the infiltration, the manufacturer needs to strictly monitor it. If too much infiltration occurs, the surface hardening coating will relatively decrease, resulting in the waste of hardening materials and a reduction in the hardening effect. If too little infiltration occurs, it will not play a role in enhancing the bonding.

Anti-fog treatment is also required on the inner surface of the car lamps. A layer of anti-fog coating will be applied to the inner surface to prevent fogging on the inner walls of the car lamps, which may affect the lighting effect.

The Filmetrics F10-HC film thickness gauge can measure the thickness of hardened coatings, penetrating layers and anti-fog coatings. It has been widely used in many automotive lighting industries. Our customers include: Koito Automotive Lighting, Jiangsu Tongming High-Tech Automotive Electrical Co., LTD., Linhai Xuanjin Automotive Parts Co., LTD., Damao Weishi Traffic Light Co., LTD., Gelhan Automotive (Dongguan) Co., LTD., Dongguan Zhicheng Rubber Products Co., LTD., Momendo High-tech Materials, Tengcang Chemical, etc.
